Quality standard at all levels
For Edscha TS, a high quality standard is a matter of course at all levels. And this also applies to all the instructions that the company publishes for its soft top systems. In terms of content, not only are the legally required details provided, but an information plus is also offered that makes the work of technicians and bodybuilders easier in particular. For example, service and maintenance intervals are listed in the operating instructions, and tools, dimensions and torques can be found in the assembly and repair instructions via pictograms.
Good picture language helps
The pictorial representations and graphics are also important in the Edscha TS instructions. The Edscha TS pictorial language shows users in great detail how the systems interact and how the individual areas work together. Pictograms point the way to supplementary information. Depending on whether the manual is an operating, assembly or repair manual, the content is structured differently and geared to the respective application purpose: Whereas assembly instructions are aimed more at vehicle builders, operating instructions are aimed more at drivers, who receive quick and uncomplicated help in 25 different languages for everyday use. Repair manuals support workshops in solving specific problems.
High availability
Increasing digitization in all areas enables Edscha TS to make its information available practically around the clock. For example, product brochures, operating, assembly and repair instructions have been available in PDF format on the Edscha TS web pages for many years. A new feature is the Spare Parts Finder, designed for fast and reliable searches for spare parts for Edscha TS soft top systems in 14 different languages and with various search functions.
Always a clear view
Worldwide, customers can also be informed and guided more and more via so-called AR (augmented reality) glasses. This works similar to a camera connection between two objects at different locations. If certain images, graphics or other information is required, these can be displayed at the time. AR technology is primarily used in assembly, maintenance and support, e.g. for the visual presentation of certain product details. Edscha TS is currently using AR technology from its German site in Moers to support the assembly of soft top systems for the local railroads in India.
Making customers happy
Finally, the question remains what professional instructions do for a product or even a company beyond their actual purpose? A well-designed and comprehensible manual - no matter what the application - leads to a positive customer experience.
