Nothing runs without rollers

Runs well. Runs safely. Runs perfectly.

Every fleet manager knows what it's like: one small mistake in the process and things get hectic. Especially when loading or unloading is delayed, deadlines have to be met or even a vehicle breaks down completely and tours have to be planned differently. Many reasons can be the culprit here. These include, for example, defective rollers of the side curtain. If the roller cannot roll properly in its aluminum guide rail or if it blocks the opening or closing of the side curtain, this costs time, money and nerves. Edscha TS shows how to prevent this and take precautions.

Pay more attention to side curtain rollers

Perhaps little attention is paid to the rollers of a side curtain only because they appear so inconspicuous and small. Yet they are important components. How quickly, quickly and safely you can operate a side curtain, for example, depends very much on the smooth functioning of the rollers. Particularly in areas subject to heavy use, the track rollers must be characterized by technical sophistication, ease of operation and high stability.

Riveting or screwing

In the past, side tarpaulin rollers with riveted rollers were welded and sewn to the side rail. Replacing the tarpaulin rollers could therefore only be done with considerable time and expense by unraveling and re-welding and sewing the belts. Today, the riveted side tarpaulin rollers are usually replaced by models with bolt-on rollers. In individual cases, the rollers are drilled out and replaced with bolt-on rollers. A repair kit from Edscha TS is available for this purpose.

Rolls differently - rolls better

The material and design features of today's tarp rollers have also changed. The change from a tarpaulin roller made entirely of steel to a combination tarpaulin roller made of steel and plastic clearly shows this. There is, for example, the "simple" roller with specially mounted, plastic-sheathed rollers that are characterized by durability and smooth gliding. Another design is the side tarpaulin roller with clip. It reduces wear on the tarpaulin loop, aluminum belt and roller and glides even better. The latest development of Edscha TS tarpaulin rollers, the SPR4, is reinforced with additional side-mounted rollers. These allow rolling instead of sliding on the aluminum belt, making the smooth running and operability of the side curtain more efficient.

A plus in all areas

So it's well worth paying attention to the new options when investing in a new side curtain or in an upcoming repair/replacement of side curtain rollers. This is rewarded by higher quality and durability, a considerable plus in reliability, ease of operation and minimal costs.
