Precaution instead of aftercare
Thanks to modern technology, the maintenance effort for many products is relatively low today. This also applies to sliding roof systems for trucks, which will not be "knocked over" even under the toughest conditions. But they are also designed for such applications. Nevertheless, they require regular care and monitoring of their functions. In most operating manuals, information on this can be found under the term "low maintenance". This does not mean that maintenance is dispensed with, but rather that it does not require a great deal of effort. Maintenance and functional tests, as well as the replacement of smaller spare parts, can be carried out quickly. And it doesn't cost much. For example, sweeping to keep the running rails or other moving parts clean and functional. What must not be missed in any case is to always take a check-up look at all visible parts. If you take regular precautions like this, you won't have to worry much about aftercare.
Reading helps
Sliding roofs, such as those developed and built by market leader Edscha TS, are uncomplicated to operate, robust in use and extremely durable. But here, too, care must be taken to ensure that lack of maintenance does not lead to failures. It is therefore important to follow the instructions in the operating manuals, which can be easily and readily downloaded from our website. If one is unsure, an Edscha TS employee or the service department of an Edscha TS distributor will be able to provide assistance and give appropriate information. A recently developed spare parts finder helps in the targeted search for replacement parts for soft top components.
Example TipperRoof
The TipperRoof system developed for dump trucks proves just how robust and durable an Edscha TS sliding roof system can be. It is used under the toughest conditions, for example on large construction sites or in road construction. The fast and easy-running sliding roofs with low canopy wear are outstanding. An important advantage here is the low maintenance requirement. The design is such that it is easy to reach the necessary maintenance points. All this saves time and money. Spare parts can be replaced directly on the vehicle.
Screws instead of rivets
Edscha TS convertible tops are well thought out down to the smallest detail and offer very innovative details. This is particularly evident in daily use or when repairing defects. For example, if you have a side curtain, where the side curtain rollers are riveted, a replacement costs a lot of effort and time. Here Edscha TS offers a repair kit with a simple solution. In this variant, the riveted side curtain rollers are drilled out and then replaced with an Edscha TS repair kit with screwed rollers. This is quick, uncomplicated, restores function quickly and saves costs and time. The plastic clip on the side tarpaulin roller also ensures less wear and better sliding of the curtain. It reduces wear on the tarpaulin loops, aluminum belt and roller. Whereas the tarpaulin rollers used to be made entirely of steel, Edscha TS now offers a flexible combination tarpaulin roller made of steel and plastic. There is the "simple" roller with specially mounted, plastic-sheathed rollers, which are characterized by durability and smooth rolling. Another variant is the SPR-4 side tarpaulin roller with excellent smooth running properties due to additional side rollers. Edscha TS now only uses bolted rollers in its side tarpaulin rollers so that any repairs can be made quickly and easily.
Regular maintenance is without alternative
So without regular maintenance it does not work. But it's a good thing that the necessary maintenance work on Edscha TS sliding roofs can be carried out very easily. The reward: a sliding roof that works smoothly. And a driver who can start the next tour relaxed.
